We travel all over the USA as entertainers at corporate events. Sometimes we drive because we’re carrying all the equipment. Other times we fly and rent all the gear from a third party vendor. In those cases we are members of the traveling public.

As a six foot man, I am viscerally aware of the shrinking seat sizes bestowed upon us by the airlines in the name of creating more profits. It’s already standard operating procedure to overbook a flight knowing that someone is going to miss their flight for whatever reason.

Long gone are the days of hoping there will be an extra seat in the back where I can stretch out or maybe get away from a screaming baby.

But these are the challenges of being a traveling entertainer. There are great opportunities to produce trade shows and conference entertainment. Airline travel is part and parcel to the job.
